Carlsbad spotlight

September 7, 2006

Carlsbad Playreaders will kick off the fall season Sept. 18 under new artistic director Jack Missett.

Missett is a veteran of several Playreaders productions, including “A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol” and “The Tale of the Allergist's Wife.”

Playreaders collectively tell the story of the play without scenery, props or costumes.

The first performance of the season will be Tennessee Williams' “The Glass Menagerie,” directed by James Hall.

The reading will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Ruby G. Schulman Auditorium at Carlsbad City Library, 1775 Dove Lane.

The cost is $5 for adults and $1 for students.
