Tritons dig in at regionals

Outside hitter Rebecca Bailey had 30 kills and Kim Adams added 76 assists and 18 digs yesterday to help third-seeded UCSD to a 23-30, 30-25, 30-25, 26-30, 15-13 victory over sixth-seeded Northwest Nazarene in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II volleyball regionals at Cal State San Bernardino.

USD women vs. Toledo

Site/time: Seton Hall University/5 p.m. PST.

Records: USD 1-1, Toledo 1-0.

Outlook: The Toreros head to the East Coast for the four-team Seton Hall Classic in South Orange, N.J.

UCSD is the defending Division II Pacific Region champion.

The victory moved the Tritons (20-7) into today's semifinals (5 p.m.) against No. 2 seed Western Washington, which swept Chico State 30-26, 30-19, 30-28.

UCSD, ranked No. 21 nationally, beat Western Washington in the opening round at last year's regional.

Men's college basketball

USD officials say more than 3,000 tickets remain for tomorrow night's home game against UNLV and about 2,000 are available for Monday night's game against San Diego State at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
