Sam Shigeaki Amano, 76, of San Diego died March 15. He was born in California and was a landscaper.

Survivors include his wife, Takeko Amano; daughters, Julie Mudgett and Karen Ideno; brother, Mitsuru Amano; and four grandchildren.

JUANA A. ARAMBULA

Aug. 16, 1951-March 27, 2008

Juana A. Arambula, 56, of National City died Thursday. She was born in Mexico and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Jesus Arambula; daughter, Haydee Arambula of National City; son, Alexander Arambula of National City; sisters, Sylvia Galindo of Chula Vista and Maria Garcia and Concepcion Hernandez of San Diego; brothers, Fidel Rodriguez and Guillermo Rodriguez of San Diego, Jose Alonso of Las Vegas and Antonio Alonso of Tijuana; and two grandchildren.

Services: have been held.

Entombment: Greenwood Bible Mausoleum, 4300 Imperial Ave., San Diego.

ROBERT E. BAILEY

Nov. 3, 1927-March 26, 2008

Robert E. Bailey, 80, of San Diego died Wednesday. He was born in Rochester, N.Y., and was an engineer for Cubic Corp. He served in the Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Donnie Bailey; daughter, Nancy Jacobsen; son, Steven Bailey; and two grandchildren.

Mass: 10 a.m. today, St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 1945 Illion St., San Diego.

JOHN ALCANTAR CARDOZA

May 5, 1939-March 24, 2008

John Alcantar Cardoza, 68, of San Diego died March 24. He was born in California and was a collision repairman for Sunset Paint & Body.

Survivors include his wife, Rosalba Cardoza; daughter, Maria; sons, Johnny, Cesar and Manuel; sisters, Maria and Dolores; brothers, Alberto and Fidencio; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Viewing: 5 to 9 p.m. tomorrow, with rosary at 7 p.m., Little Chapel of the Roses, Glen Abbey Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita.

Mass: 10 a.m. Thursday, St. Charles Catholic Church, 990 Saturn Blvd., San Diego.

Interment: after Mass, Glen Abbey Memorial Park.

EDNA VIRGINIA DEODATO

Edna Virginia Deodato, 87, of San Diego died March 19. She was born in Norfolk, Va., and was an administrative assistant with YMCA.

Survivors include her daughters, Sharon and Nancy-Bonnie; sons, Terrence, Eric, Guy and Darius; brother, Ronald Wohleking; and nine grandchildren.

Mildred Dettore, 87, of La Mesa died March 22. She was born in Tulsa, Okla., and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandy Walker, Sue Sequin and Jackie Penny; sons, Melvin Durand Jr. and John Durand; stepson, Jimmy Dettore; sisters, Betty Richardson and Mary Hudson; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Diestel; daughters, Lillian Mockles of Chester and Janet Hartzell of Susanville; sisters, Barbra Paccerelli of Washington State; Diane Krutsch of Ione and Helen Barrett of Haltom, Texas; brother, Wilk Auiler of Boerne, Texas; and six grandchildren.

Services: 1 p.m. April 16, First Presbyterian Church, 320 Date St., San Diego.
