Review: Are you looking for some fishy fun this summer? Then SeaWorld is the place for you!
Younger children will love the adorable new show called “Big Bird's Beach Party,” which brought back memories of a similar show that I saw when I was little. I loved it when I was 3, and I'll even admit that I like the show now.
It has all of the famous characters of “Sesame Street”: Elmo, Big Bird, Bert, Ernie and Telly. The characters sing and dance their way to the beach; all to help Telly overcome his fear of water. For even more “Sesame Street” fun, you can see the “4-D” movie “Lights, Camera, Imagination.” During the 15-minute adventure, you can feel raindrops splashing on you and bugs wiggling by. Whether you are young, or just young at heart, these two shows are lots of fun.
As a preschooler, I used to spend hours in Shamu's Happy Harbor (the wondrous play land filled with climbing nets and water slides). Due to renovations, visitors will no longer get to visit it. But they will have tons of fun in the all-new Sesame Street Bay of Play, which is opening May 24.
If Sesame Street isn't your cup of tea, there are plenty of other things to do at SeaWorld. I suggest the ride called Journey to Atlantis. It's a fun way to get wet, and the huge drop is awesome. There are even smoke effects.
If you would prefer a calmer ride, I recommend Wild Arctic. This simulated helicopter ride is suspenseful and super fun. After the ride, you travel through an exhibit where you get to see all kinds of Arctic animals, and there is also a 25-foot-long ice wall (that will definitely keep you cool).
At night, you can't miss “Shamu Rocks.” This action-packed show is centered on music and, of course, Shamu! You will watch killer whales perform amazing tricks while the energetic dancers perform high above the water. This action all takes place while you are listening to the fast notes of a guitarist shredding a solo. It's a great show, and I highly recommend it.
You could easily spend all day at SeaWorld. There is so much to see and do. So swing on down there for an ocean of fun!
My rating: A. A few more roller coaster rides would earn the amusement park a definite A+.

Review: This show is amazing and not something you'll want to miss.

The musical tells the story of Jacob, a man with 12 sons, and how his son Joseph is his favorite. Soon, his 11 other sons rise up against Joseph, leaving him for dead. But little do they know ...
The show has great acting, singing and flashy costumes, an amazing cast and a bit of a modern twist in some places. The set remains largely the same, yet various pieces are changed, from Egyptian scenery to decorated columns. Many of the costumes are especially good and ablaze with color.
The nearly 60-person cast ranges in age from about 9 to 18 and everyone seems to work well together. They are all well cast and full of talent and energy. David Siciliano, playing Joseph, is an outstanding singer and actor and perfect for the role. The show is also fully narrated and sung very well by Katerli Crail and Marianne Zumberge and especially Devon Hollingsworth.
The musical numbers are definitely the best parts. The live orchestra makes the music just that much better. The song “Joseph's Coat” may be one of the most visual songs included. With almost the entire cast holding flags, the stage is practically covered with color.
The hilarious country song “One More Angel in Heaven” is led by Simeon, played by Kevin Barber. Also very memorable are “Those Canaan Days,” sung by Reuben and the other brothers, and the extravagant disco number “Go, Go, Go Joseph!,” performed by most of the cast. Included in just about every song is the children's choir, which does a fantastic job!
My Rating: A
